The bride who commissioned this piece was married in Italy and came back to the States for her reception. There's something about feathers that is very European when worn as accessories.

When I went to Paris a few years ago I was surprised to see feathers in many of the small boutiques. Parisians wear them everywhere! Adorning their clothes, embellishing their shoes, in their hair and even as jewelry!

This little marabou comb was worn low at the back of the head. The vintage silk flowers were a combination of organza and velvet petals... They were absolutely gorgeous! I wish I could have purchased more of them. Alas, limited quantities is the one drawback when working with vintage components.
