The
Flirty Bride's Rule of Four
Too often brides have come to my studio requesting over the top everything!
A top to bottom beaded gown, a tall tiara, gloves, an edged veil with
scattered beads, a choker necklace with large drop earrings, hair
pins and a bracelet! TOO MUCH I tell them, choose one piece as your
most important focal point and then we work back from there
It's not that you can't have several accessories, you can, but you absolutely
need to be aware of their proportions and if they are working with
you or against you. To
create a visually pleasing balance I prioritize and divide accessories
into the following 4 categories:

Here are some of the most popular combinations my brides choose. As you
can see there is no hard rule as many elements go into creating a sophisticated
look: your height, body type, shape of your face, hair style and cut
of your gown are just a few. Add in your venue, the formality of your
wedding, time of day and season... Believe it or not all of these
things factor into the equation.

I
assure you, over the years I have spent countless hours talking brides
out of too many accessories and never once have I talked a single
bride into something she didn't want or need. Classic elegance is
never a bad choice. What may be the hottest fad now might look ridiculous
in 20 years... Remember the 80's? Big hair, bold make up, big gowns
with those sleeves that looked like inflated balloons at the shoulder...
Need I say more?
